All you need to know about, YouTube’s first-ever podcast, ‘The Upload: The Rise of the Creator Economy’

On the 15th of September, 2021, YouTube announced the first-ever official podcast, called ‘The Upload- The Rise of the Creator Economy’.

Robert Kyncl, Chief Business Officer, YouTube, stated, “We wanted to showcase the magic of the creator economy in an entirely new way, by taking people behind the scenes to learn what goes into the businesses of the creators whose videos they watch every day.”

Throughout the podcast series, we will be introduced to YouTube content creators from around the world with channels of all sizes who have built thriving businesses with high-quality content.

For ‘The Upload’ podcast series, YouTube has partnered with the National Public Media and Brittany Luse, an award-winning journalist, cultural critic, and co-host of the For Colored Nerds podcast.

The series will feature successful YouTubers like Lilly Singh, Caleb Marshall (The Fitness Marshall), Emmy Cho (emmymade), Leah Bolden (See Jane Drill) and many more. The new episodes will be released every Wednesday on YouTube, Google podcasts, Apple Music, and Spotify.

The first episode will be podcasted on 22nd September and feature Lilly Singh. You can join the series on YouTube here.
